Are you training for an upcoming Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike or other adventure below The Rim? There is no better place to prepare than Sedona's Red Rock Country. This challenging hike will bring you to our personal favorite place in Sedona, the inspiring summit of Munds Mountain.
The trail is excellent for pushing yourself to new limits because it gains a continuous 2,000ft of elevation and the end parallels a road if you need to "bail out". The trail walks through Bear Wallow Canyon, passes by Mitten Ridge, gains Schnebly Hill, and eventually the incredible summit of Munds Mountain. From the top op Munds Mountain, you will stand above an ancient coral reef and over look Cathedral Rock, Gibraltar Rock, Twin Buttes, Submarine Rock, Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, Castle Rock, Steamboat Rock, Ship Rock, and Capitol Butte.
The non-stop elevation gain and orientation of this trail will prepare you for attempting a Grand Canyon adventure below the rim. Our expert guides will help you learn how to properly prepare your pack, nutrition/diet, clothing/gear needed, and mindset to accomplish your goals. You can do this, and we can help!!!
